Sandhills Community College announces several staff promotions in the administrative offices and the Continuing Education division.
Mary Bridschge is now the Director of Curriculum Operations and Leadership Development. She will shepherd campus leadership programs. Speaking of the new position and Bridschge, President John Dempsey said, “One of the things that makes Sandhills unique is our commitment to the continuing development of our faculty and staff through campus-based leadership programs and experiences. It is fitting that such a unique effort be led by one of the college’s true shining lights.”
In addition to continuing to be the Executive Assistant to President Dempsey, Heather Lyons is the new Associate Dean for College Initiatives. She is also an instructor of Sociology at the college. “Like Mary, Heather is one of those people with leadership and organizational skills that are unsurpassed,” said Dempsey. “Her new position will involve her even more directly in the kinds of efforts the college will need to stay on the leading edge of community college education in North Carolina.”
Maria Campbell and Angie Swayne assume new roles in the Division of Continuing Education. Campbell has been named Director of College and Career Readiness (CCR) and Angie Swayne has been named Associate Director, CCR.
“Both have been dedicated professionals with CCR for many years and are very familiar with the policies, guidelines, and students of their program,” said Vice President of Continuing Education Andrea Korte. “They are passionate about student success and committed to our core values. I am confident they will do wonderful work in their new roles as they lead the CCR team into the future.”
