October Career Development Classes at Hoke Center

With the new year quickly approaching, there is no better time than the present to begin your path to economic, social, and educational success. The goal of the Career Development Program at Sandhills is to assist in assessing student interests, personality traits, and skills to establish career and educational goals.

“Pre-Employment Training” teaches career related basics such as how to properly complete an application, how to write a résumé, and how to prepare for an interview. Job search technique, safety and success will also be covered. This class is a requirement to be considered for employment with Smithfield Packing Company.

“Direct Care Basics- Phase 2” will build upon skills introduced in Phase I and expand students’ knowledge of skills used in home management and personal care tasks using limited assistance. Completers will receive a Sandhills Community College certificate as a Personal and Home Care Companion. Jane Drzewicki is the instructor for this “ready for the workforce” class.
