College and Career Readiness Instructor (Basic Skills)
Sandhills Community College's Division of Continuing Education seeks applications for part-time College and Career Readiness Instructors for campus, community, and correctional classes. Classes meet day and evening hours. Reporting to the Director of College and Career College Readiness, the successful candidate's duties will involve providing instruction to adults enrolled in Adult Basic Education (ABE) which includes SUCCEED classes for students with developmental disabilities, Adult High School (AHS), High School Equivalency (currently the GED® testing credential), English as a Second Language, and Family Literacy programs in Moore and Hoke Counties. Other duties include administering the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System (CASAS) assessment to students, registering students for class, preparing daily lesson plans, maintaining daily attendance rosters, and completing Literacy Education Information System (LEIS) paperwork.
Bachelor's degree required. Two years experience in teaching desired, preferably in an adult education environment. Applicant must pass a timed test of Basic Skills. Applicant should possess strong computer and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
