Basic Skills Instructor

Sandhills Community College’s Division of Continuing Education seeks applications for part-time Basic Skills Instructors for campus, community, and correctional classes. Classes meet day and evening hours. Reporting to the Senior Director of Basic Skills Education, the successful candidate’s duties will involve providing instruction to adults enrolled in Adult Basic Education, Adult High School, Compensatory Education, English as a Second Language, GED (High School’ Equivalency), and Family Literacy programs in Moore and Hoke Counties. Other duties include administering CASAS assessment to students, registering students to class, preparing daily lesson plans, maintaining daily attendance roster, and completing LEIS paperwork.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Two years experience in teaching desired, preferably in an adult education environment. Applicant must pass a timed test of Basic Skills. Applicant should possess strong computer and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
